'Grey's Anatomy' Season 10 Spoilers: Cristina Bids Farewell, Disaster Strikes in Finale
"Grey's Anatomy" returns to ABC this Thursday with the finale episode of season 10 entitled "Fear (of the Unknown)."
Similar to past finales on the medical drama, the culmination of season 10 promises to be a whirlwind of action-packed drama, and has even been described as "explosive." However, fans are still wondering about the departure of actress Sandra Oh, as well as the goodbye her character Cristina Yang will offer.
Oh first announced her departure from the series at the beginning of season 10, but fans have anxiously anticipated how "Grey's" creator Shonda Rhimes would write off Cristina. The answer came last week-after 10 years at Grey Sloan Memorial, Cristina is heading to Switzerland to oversee a medical research facility. However, it remains to be seen how Cristina's cope with the changes as well as the loss of one of the hospital's finest surgeons.

In addition to Cristina's farewell, Grey's Sloan Memorial will come under siege after a potential terrorist attack sends dozens of injured victims into its care. Adding to the drama of the finale episode, April (Sarah Drew) will reveal news of her pregnancy to Owen (Kevin McKidd).
"Yes, it's an explosive episode," Caterina Scorsone, who portrays Amelia, warned while speaking to TV Line recently. "It's going to be 'all hands on deck,' absolutely. It's chaos. It's Shondaland!"
In other casting news on "Grey's," Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey) and Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd) have signed contracts assuring viewers that their characters will stay on for at least two more years. Also, as previously reported, the fates of four other "Grey's" characters was revealed when the actors who portray them inked brand-new two-year deals with ABC last week. Justin Chambers, Sara Remirez, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. will each appear in season 11; therefore surviving the May 15 finale. The actors portray Alex Karev, Dr. Callie Torres, Dr. Miranda Bailey and Richard Webber, respectively.
"Grey's Anatomy" will air on ABC Thursday at 9 p.m. EST. The synopsis for "Fear (of the Unknown)" is as follows: "In the 10th season finale, Cristina's coworkers give her a fond send-off. Meanwhile, a possible terrorist act occurs in Seattle and leads to pandemonium at the hospital; Meredith makes a life-altering choice; and a doctor gets alarming news."
