'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 update & spoilers: Meredith continues on with life, Joey Lauren Adams to play Bailey's competition
The return of the hit TV drama series "Grey's Anatomy" is fast approaching but spoilers of the upcoming Season 12 are still pouring in giving fans a heads up of what's in store in the show. Obviously, the show will not lack any good drama as it has always had, but compared to the dark and tragic previous season, the upcoming one will be lighter in tone.
According to International Business Times, the new season will show the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital going on with their lives after the tragedy, especially Meredith Grey. The death of the love of her life was deep and heavy but fans will now see Meredith continue her journey as a surgeon and a single mother of three. Things will definitely be hard but she will not be alone as her sisters, Maggie and Amelia, as well as Alex, whom she considers her brother, will be helping her through the challenge.

Cartermatt revealed that Meredith's story will be divided up into two - her home life and her professional life. With Amelia and Maggie living under the same roof with her, it's expected that there's going to be a lot of stories to be explored. She will also carry on with becoming excellent at her job and do what she does best, which is saving other people's lives.
Meanwhile, the actress who will play Miranda Bailey's competition for the position of becoming the new Chief has been revealed. Entertainment Weekly reported that ABC announced Friday that Joey Lauren Adams of "Chasing Amy" will be guest-starring in the upcoming season of "Grey's Anatomy." The Season 11 finale left off with Bailey dreaming to snatch the vacant top position. And apparently, someone else has the same dream and that will be Adams' character, which will be revealed in more detail when the show returns.
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 premiere will be on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
