GTA V PC Release Date: Evidence of PC Version Release Found In Xbox 360 Hack (Rumors, Details)
With the GTA V release date finally landing, gaming fans are flooding in to purchase the eagerly awaited game across the nation. However, many are also looking for information on the GTA V PC release date, and latest news indicates that the date may have been discovered among the files torn from secure servers.
The GTA V PC release date evidence came through Cinemablend, which reported on the data being leaked in a Pastebin file via Reddit.
According to the code, there is a section detailing "PC configuration overrides" as well as a line of "pc" code that seems to indicate a GTA V PC release date will be landing in the future for fans.
A PS4 version was also allegedly found in the game code under the platform name "Orbis," which fans remember was the codename given to the PS4 during development.
Just last month, an executive at Nvidia hinted at a GTA V PC release during a conference call with investors. Chris Evenden said, "The PC market is evolving. As entry level laptops face pressure from tablets. Yet sales of specialty PCs like gaming systems and work stations continue to grow.
"The disparity reflects how consumers use these different classes of PCs. Many consumers look for PC as a general purpose device they can use for browsing, email, social media video. But much of this can be better served by a tablet.
"In contrast, gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin's Creed IV."
However, the GTA V PC release date may not be very soon. In previous GTA game releases since Vice City there have been about 462 days on average between the announcement of the game and the announcement – not even release – of the PC version.
Contrasting the release dates, in the past the time from the release date of the GTA game on consoles and then onto PC, the PC release was about 212 days later on average.
That has had some analysts predicting that a GTA V PC release date will not land until early in 2014. Others, more skeptical of an early release date predict it could take all the way through to July 2014 for the GTA V PC version to be released.
