The success of "Guardians of the Galaxy" was a mixed surprise. While many expect only the best from Marvel, the cast of the film was sort of a big question to people. Unlike Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans who were built for superhero roles, Chris Pratt was only ever seen in comedic roles. While the character Star Lord is also quite a comedian himself, Pratt has never been tasked to save the world or even had a six-pack in his famed role in "Community." Now, for the sequel of "Guardians," Pratt will be back along with his crew, comprising Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel).

According to Screen Rant, one of the confirmed returning characters as well is Benicio del Toro. Del Toro played the role of The Collector in the first film, and it has since been a big question mark as to whether he will appear again in the next installment. Despite being a minor part, the first film did not fail to establish the significance of his character. Being a collector of cosmic antiquities, it is suspected that he will have something major to do in the latter part of MCU's Phase 3.

Unlike other recent and upcoming roles in "Sicario" and "Star Wars: Episode VIII" that truly lean to being evil or villainous, The Collector is somehow more neutral, with more selfish goals. With his only intent of trying to increase his collection, it might mean that he is more likely to do both good and bad actions that are beneficial to him.

What del Toro will be doing in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" has not been confirmed yet. Perhaps audience will first see how he reels from the explosion and loss of his collection in the first film, but he might be contributing a lot of information about the Infinity Stone since he is quite knowledgeable about them. It may even warrant him a visit from the great villain Thanos himself.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
