'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Charater News and Release Date: A New Character Will Be Joining the Guardians

Details about the sequel for the hit Marvel movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" have been revealed.

It was reported that the director of the movie, James Gunn, recently participated in a fan Q&A session on Facebook. He was able to share details about the upcoming film, as well as details on other Marvel films.

He explained that the upcoming movie will share some similarities with the first installment. However, there will still be significant changes made in the sequel.

Gunn recently moved to Atlanta in order to begin shooting the film. It was reported that filming for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will begin as early as February. Gunn also explained that they had already finished up casting for the film.

With that, he revealed that there will be another character joining the Guardians in the upcoming installment. However, he refused to share any other details about who exactly the new character will be.

He said, "I'm not going to give names and I'm won't give numbers either, but there will be at least one new character in 'Guardians of the Galaxy.'"

He also commented on the fact that Stan Lee will be making another cameo in the film. He added, "I love Stan Lee. He's a great man. He's one of my favorite people in the world. I still get giddy like a school girl whenever I'm around him, and he's also nice to me, so why would I not want him in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2?'"

When asked whether another installment of "Guardians of the Galaxy" will follow the sequel, he explained that there is a possibility for it. Ultimately, it could depend on the outcome of the second installment.

With that, he also explained that there are many Marvel comic ideas that he is interested in, so he is hoping that he will be able to bring it to the big screen.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will premiere on May 5, 2017.
