'Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2' News: Will Fans Finally Get To Know Who Star-Lord's Father Is?
Last week, news surfaced about the parenthood of Chris Pratt's Peter Quill, a.k.a Star-Lord, and the question is, did somebody finally spill who the Guardian's father is?
Not really, at least from Director James Gunn's side. As he is very well known for, Gunn took to social media and slammed the rumor that was first reported by Heroic Hollywood. The outlet said Star-Lord's father is none other than Captain Marvel. The outlet explains that Quill's mystery father is the Kree military officer who comic book fans know better with the name Mar-Vell.
According to the exclusive report, Marvel will immediately slam any rumors about Star-Lord's lineage since Gunn and the company are actually slamming speculations about Ms. Marvel and not the original Captain Mar-Vell.

Gunn is known to answer fan questions on social media and this particular rumor took his attention as he went on Facebook and posted, "The rumors surrounding Quill's parentage at the present moment are completely false, and aren't even close to the truth."
While Gunn's statements should have clarified the confusion, many fans still believe the HH report and some said the director just may be denying the claims to keep the leak under wraps as the report is a massive spoiler.
In the first movie, Quill was able to interact with one of the Infinity Stones, which only means he has alien blood since humans can't survive the power of the Stones. Screen Rant noted that the rumor about Mar-Vell being Quill's father has been connected to his alien abilities multiple times already.
While the claim about Quill's parenthood could be a false report, as Gunn said, it should be noted that the outlet that revealed the news is known for leaking a bunch of rumors that turn out to be true.
Until then, fans can just wait until "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" releases on May 5, 2017, to find out if Captain Mar-Vell is indeed Star-Lord's dad.
