'Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2' Rumors: Kurt Russell in Talks to Play Star-Lord's Dad?
As production for "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" continues, the rumors also keep coming and the latest is that of veteran actor Kurt Russell being in talks for the most mysterious role in the franchise.
According to the rumors, Russell has been contacted by director James Gunn to talk about the sequel. The Golden Globe Awards nominee for "Silkwood" has reportedly been offered to bag the role of none other than Star-Lord's dad.
The role is probably the most mysterious yet since everything that fans know of is based on speculations and fan fiction. While a lot of moviegoers and comic book addicts have already concluded that he will be playing Star-Lord's dad, the truth is, there has been no confirmation from either Gunn or Russell himself.

However, in an interview with Josh of "Happy Sad Confused" on WolfPop, the Hollywood star confirmed that he did get a phone call from Gunn and they discussed the upcoming movie.
Sadly, Russell said he would have to consider being cast in the movie since, believe it or not, he has no idea about the events that occurred in the first film. "I've never seen 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' so I don't know anything about it."
The 64-year-old actor further explained that he had heard a lot of positive notes regarding the movie but he had to be honest when he was on the phone with the director. "And I just had to be honest and say, 'Thank you for considering me, I have to read [the script], and I have to watch the [first] movie because I can't bring anything for you [right now].'"
At the moment, it is best to rely on the idea that he may settle with Gunn on a role after he gets the hang of the movie, since based on his interview, he wouldn't want to just say "Yes" to something he has nothing to offer.
Russell has worked on numerous movies, not only as an actor but also as a writer and producer. He has been in a relationship with Goldie Hawn for more than 2 decades.
"Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" is slated for release on May 5, 2017.
