'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' update: Gunn completes second draft, director drops new hints
In a Facebook post early Saturday, James Gunn shared with fans that he is on the final roundups for the second draft of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."
Liked by thousands of fans in a matter of hours, the post reads, "It's #Caturday, I'm finishing my second draft of Guardians Vol. 2 today, and Emily decided to inspire me with galaxies in her eyes. Thanks, cat! Have a great day, all!"
Once Gunn completes the entire draft, experts suggest that production may start anytime soon. According to Comic Book, Gunn has previously stated that his plans for the sequel involves "two primary drafts and then constant noodling until we shoot."

While fans await the beginning of production to get a glimpse of the cast during filming and to get maybe a few paparazzi shots for spills, Gunn once again made a statement in a Q&A session with Twitter fans on Monday.
The acclaimed director shared how he is planning to mimic the same approach he used in the first movie in terms of presenting his lead characters in a well-balanced manner. He tackled the issue about giving enough screen time for each of the characters, and not just focusing on Chris Pratt's "Star Lord" Quill.
When asked by a fan regarding the number of new faces he plans to introduce in the sequel, Gunn replied, "Not too many, that's for sure!" The director added that the reason behind this decision is because he wants each of his amazing superheroes to get "MORE personal time" than what audiences saw in the first installment.
Another fan asked if fans will get to see a new female lead and Gunn explained that he is making it a goal to "get a higher % of female heroes (and villains) out there. So MAYBE." According to Cinema Blend, one of the possible names who could make it to the "Guardians" roster is Moondragon, since she has been a key character in the comic book versions.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is slated for a May 5, 2017 release.
