Gwyneth Paltrow Close Call on Vespa, Feuding With Vanity Fair?
Gwyneth Paltrow is enduring a tough week with both a near-accident on her Vespa and an alleged feud with Vanity Fair magazine.
The 40-year-old actress is married to Coldplay's Chris Martin with whom she shares two children. The family is often spotted out together, and Monday was no exception.
Driving a Vespa, Paltrow was captured on video in Los Angeles picking up her daughter while Martin followed riding his own Vespa, according to TMZ.
The footage reveals Paltrow doing an aggressive driving tactic where she cut off a school bus, narrowly avoiding making contact with the vehicle. Paltrow has received criticism for the dangerous driving caught on tape.
Adding to her troubles, Paltrow is also reportedly embroiled in a conflict with Vanity Fair magazine.
Reports indicate that the "Shallow Hal" star is refusing to cooperate with the magazine in protest of its unflattering coverage of several celebrities, according to New York Daily News.
In a further attempt to control her public image, Paltrow is also said to have urged other celebrities to avoid working with Vanity Fair.
Paltrow will appear next in "Thanks For Sharing," in theaters Sept. 20. The film also stars Mark Ruffalo and follows three different people who are dealing with sex addiction.
Despite the controversial subject matter, Paltrow explained why she joined the film project while speaking to The Globe and Mail.
"There's a line in the movie where somebody says something like, 'Isn't sex addiction just an excuse men use when they get caught cheating?' But actually, it is a real pathology," said the starlet.
"It was interesting to learn about it, see what the behavior is and what causes it, and how people are sober," Paltrow added. "It was very interesting. I learned a lot."
The Academy Award-winner is also set to appear in "33 Dias."
