Gwyneth Paltrow Diet Warning, Juicing Left Her 'Hallucinating'

Gwyneth Paltrow is very outspoken about her health and lifestyle with her newsletter GOOP, but this week, the actress made a surprising admission.

Notoriously elitist when it comes to food, Paltrow discussed her personal experience with the latest diet trend: juicing cleanses.

"I've done juice cleanses in the past, and in my twenties I did the Master Cleanse, which left me hallucinating after 10 days," the actress told the U.K.'s Telegraph. "Be aware: a juice detox can crash your metabolism and lead to future weight gain."

Furthermore, the Academy Award-winning actress went onto offer fans additional tips about weight and health.

"There is something punitive about weighing yourself. It can leave you vulnerable to shame a guilt, and it messes with you psychologically," said Paltrow. "Women naturally gain and lose weight during their monthly cycle anyway, so it can be more realistic to monitor your body shape with measuring tape."

Meanwhile, Paltrow is a diet and exercise enthusiast who often praises fitness guru and celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson.

"It did such wonders for my life, my confidence, my sex life, everything," she said of Tracy Anderson's method, according to RedBook.

Paltrow also often touts Anderson's methods on her weekly newsletter GOOP, once writing, "By now, I think you all know how amazing I think my trainer, partner and friend Tracy Anderson is, how she kicked my twice pregnant a-into shape, and keeps taking me to new levels."

In addition to her candidness about diet and exercise, Paltrow also shares details about life with her husband Chris Martin and their two children.

The "Iron Man 3" star married Coldplay's lead singer in 2003, and confessed that their 10-year marriage has not always been easy.

"It's hard being married. You go through great times, and you go through terrible times," said Paltrow speaking to Glamour's U.K. magazine. "We're the same as any couple."

Known for having had a close relationship with her late father, the actress recounted asking his advice.

"I asked my dad once, 'How did you and Mum stay married for 33 years?' And he said, 'Well, we never wanted to get divorced at the same time.' And I think that's what happens," explained Paltrow.

The actress' mother, Blythe Danner, is also an actress and is well known for her role in the film "Meet the Fockers."

As for her own marriage, Paltrow said that she and her husband are "good friends."
