Gwyneth Paltrow Wants to Be 'Forgiving' of Possible Infidelity

Gwyneth Paltrow has been married to Chris Martin for 10 years, and in a recent interview, Paltrow revealed that she would like to be forgiving if Martin cheated or understanding if he had a sexual addiction.

"I'm an extremely open-minded person, so I think if it was something I knew I was getting myself into, I wouldn't let it deter me from exploring the relationship," Paltrow told Refinery29.com.

She stars in "Thanks for Asking," a movie featuring Mark Ruffalo, who is struggling with sexual addiction. The movie caused her to think about the possibility of infidelity in her own relationship and the stereotypes about those who have an addiction.

"I think that if the idea of being committed to someone is important to you, you begin to value certain parts of your social life over another," Paltrow said. "No couple is the same, and as such, every couple takes on different challenges. I would like to think that I would be forgiving and/or forgiven, but I can't give an honest answer as I haven't really experienced that."

However, Paltrow admitted that it would be "hard to be one of those wives who finds out there's been something going on behind my back 20 years in. I'd imagine you'd begin to question your life. It would definitely make things harder, but I believe if there's authenticity and honesty right off the bat, things will be okay."

Paltrow and Martin have two children, Apple, 8, and Moses, 7. They each have their own independent careers but have made time for one another as well. The couple currently resides in Martin's home country of England though they briefly lived in the U.S.

"It's hard being married," Paltrow previously told Glamour U.K. "You go through great times, you go through terrible times. We're the same as any couple. We laugh, we're good friends, we like to do the same stuff."
