Halle Berry Denied Move to France by Judge

Halle Berry has lost the right to move daughter Nahla to France this week during her custody battle against Gabriel Aubry.

According to reports, Berry requested to permanently move to Paris with 4-year-old Nahla in order to be with her fiancée, Olivier Martinez.

The full details of the court ruling this week are unclear, but Berry is not permitted to move to Paris with Nahla, according to TMZ.

Filed in a Los Angeles family court in February, Berry requested to move with Nahla over concerns about their personal safety in the U.S. The actress has been forced to take legal action against two stalkers in the past, and is constantly avoiding paparazzi.

The "Cloud Atlas" star explained her desire to move abroad with her daughter during a recent interview.

"Because we are followed all the time, [Nahla] is starting to feel like she is somehow special, and of course she is," Berry explained to InStyle magazine in November. "But I want her to understand that she's special because of who she is, not because she was born into this celebrity blender."

Meanwhile, Berry, 46, has been embroiled in a bitter custody battle against her ex-bofriend and Nahla's father, Aubry.

The French-Canadian model disputed Berry's request, claiming that a move to France was designed to limit his contact with Nahla, according to ABC News.

A source close to Berry denied that the actress' desire to relocate to Paris was a malicious act against Aubry.

"Halle was never going for full custody," the insider said, according to People magazine. "That wasn't what it was about. Whatever the outcome, she wasn't trying for that. There were just other issues that they couldn't resolve, and therefore the courts had to intervene."

The Oscar Award-winning actress split from Aubry, 36, in 2010 after four years together.

Berry became engaged to French actor Martinez in 2011. The actress has been married twice before, first to singer Eric Benet, and then to baseball player David Justice.
