Halle Berry Son an Answer to Daughter Nahla's Prayers

Actress Halle Berry was shocked to learn she was pregnant at the age of 47. The mother of two now says she thinks her pregnancy was the result of 6-year-old daughter Nahla's prayers.

"Only her prayers could have done this," Berry told TV host Ellen DeGeneres. "I didn't think it was possible at my age, honestly. They call it a geriatric pregnancy. I was, you know, on my way. This is probably way TMI (too much information) but I was kinda pre-menopausal, so to have this happen was huge."

Berry also did not plan on getting married again, she admitted. She was grateful to have Nahla and be a single mother.

"I mean, I didn't think it was possible to have another baby and I thought for sure I had a need never to get married again. So, I've learned never to say never. Nahla prayed and prayed for him for like a year and a half for a baby and a bunk bed, and she got both of those things," Berry revealed.

"Love changes everything," DeGeneres replied.

"Yeah … or a baby does for sure," Berry joked.

DeGeneres then called the healthy baby boy, named Maceo, a miracle. Berry gave birth to him seven months ago, and for daughter Nahla, it's apparently been a dream come true.

"She's just like, he's like one of her dollies that came to life," Berry said. "You know and all she wants to do is change his clothes. Like she'll purposely throw something on his shirt and say, 'Oh mommy, he's got to change his shirt. He has a mess on him!' She just likes to change his clothes, change his diapers."

Berry is now happily married to Olivier Martinez and has worked out a custody agreement with former husband Gabriel Aubry, Nahla's father. The three have had their issues but have seemingly managed to come together at last in order to ensure the young girl's happiness.
