"Halo Wars 2" maintains the Halo series' science fiction universe setting, just like its predecessor title "Halo Wars" which was released in 2009. The real-time strategy game was recently launched on Xbox One and PC last Feb. 21.

Over at the website of Xbox Live head Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb, the official game description says: "Real-time strategy makes an explosive return to the Halo universe in Halo Wars 2. Lead Spartans, Warthogs and other classic Halo fighting forces in a brutal war against a terrifying new enemy on the biggest Halo battlefield ever. All-new, Action-packed Story – The heroes of Halo Wars return to find themselves – and the galaxy – in more danger than ever."

Xbox One players need to sign up for an Xbox Live Gold membership in order to access the free demo. Meanwhile, the news release did not mention when the free demo expires.

Upon launch, "Halo Wars 2" introduced four multiplayer game modes, namely Deathmatch, Domination, Strongholds, and the one named Blitz which is available in the free demo.

For players who will try out Blitz, it is important to note that it is a unique gaming mode. The basic principle in order to win is to capture more zones compared to the opposing team. And to be able to win, players will need to maintain dominance over captured zones until the game time is up. Tips in playing Blitz can be found in earlier reports.
