Han Solo Movie Plot News: Director Ron Howard Hints of Appearance of Two Non-Canon Characters
Fans of "Star Wars" will be seeing two favorite non-canon characters in the upcoming Han Solo movie as teased by its director Ron Howard.
Over the weekend, Howard shared a photo of him alongside screenwriter Jon Kasdan and first assistant director Toby Hefferman both dressed in costumes that longtime fans of "Star Wars" will remember -- the legendary characters Tag Greenley and Bink Otauna.
For fans who might not have recognized the characters, Howard made the reference easier to understand by including the hashtag #tagandbink on his Twitter post.
Shortly after Howard posted the photo on Twitter, comics writer and the creator of the characters, Kevin Rubio, replied with obvious joy to the addition of his masterpieces to the upcoming film.
Kasdan then thanked Rubio and said: "I'm a huge fan and I had to get 'em in there, and then had to play it myself (with Toby Hefferman) to do it justice."
Meanwhile, Rubio admitted that he did not know Howard and the film writers were going to use the characters for the Han Solo movie, according to The Verge. However, the comics writer did not seem to mind how that went and reportedly thought it was actually "pretty [expletive] cool."
Tag and Bink are an inseparable duo famously known for their mischievous adventures in the non-canon comics that Rubio created for Dark Horse.
The two were introduced in a two-part titular comic release "Tag & Bink Are Dead," which covered the part of the duo's life when they joined the Rebellion and served the Tantive IV ship, which was later on captured by enemies.
However, the duo's adventure started becoming even more interesting when they defeated a pair of opponents assigned to keep an eye on them. The two then disguised themselves as Stormtroopers and had to maintain it by riding back with the enemy in the Devastator. Later, the two were moved to the first Death Star which also traveled to Alderaan -- Bink's hometown.
The still untitled Han Solo movie is slated to premiere on May 25, 2018 and also stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover and more.
