'Handsome Guy Bandit' Captured in Mississippi (VIDEO)
A north Texas man who was wanted for several armed robberies was caught in Mississippi after he refused to yield during a routine traffic stop.
According to Richardson police, Steven Ray Milam, 44, was arrested in Jackson County, Miss., after a pursuit around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Officers in Mississippi said the pursuit began after officers ran the vehicle's license plate and determined the registered owner was a man who had warrants out of Texas. When the officer tried to stop the vehicle the driver refused and a chase ensued.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd shot out the right rear tire: “That was a last resort and I just didn’t want him going any further and possibly harming someone else.” Once the car rolled to a stop, officers stated the driver of the car tried to consume a large amount of pills, according to WLOX.
Sheriff Byrd told CBS News that Milam was receiving treatment at Singing River Hospital. The Sheriff said Milam vomited in the police car and was rushed to the hospital.
Milam was named the "Handsome Guy Bandit" due to his professional, realistic-looking mask which covered his entire head that had been left behind at one of the crime scenes.
“I’m freaking out a little bit, because if what people are saying is true has happened, then I kind of fear a little bit for my family, knowing that’s taking place and it could be across the street,” neighbor of Milam, Larry Kalmowitz, told WLOX.
Back in 2005, police said he served a two-year federal prison sentence for robbing two banks in Dallas.
“He has kids. He has a wife. They’re all great people,” Jon-Paul Stanley, a neighboring business owner, told WLOX. “I had no idea.”
As of late Tuesday morning Milam remained hospitalized. When he is released he will be placed in the Jackson County Jail where he will wait for extradition back to Texas.
