Harold Camping Oct. 21 Rapture: Family Radio Says 'Condemned Will Fall Into Endless Sleep' (VIDEO)
Camping PR Spokesman: In Rapture Non-Believers Go to Sleep, Never Wake
Seeking to comfort the "The Faithful" who may be experiencing doubt over the accuracy of Oct. 21, Tom Evans, who was Harold Camping's PR man up to May 21, 2011, spoke on Family Radio Thursday.
Titled "Tom Evan's Study" and dated Oct. 16, the audio message features Evans doing a Bible study with Family Radio and Camping supporters about the spiritual "unfoldings" of May 21, the day of Camping's third failed end of the world prediction, and what to expect on Friday, especially if Christians are not raptured, or caught up to heaven.
Evans has known Camping for about 30 years and has worked with Family Radio for 25 years in various capacities.
Evans tells those gathered at the Family Radio meeting in Oakland, Calif., that he has been in regular contact with Camping, and emphasizes that the 90-year-old Bible teacher, "believes that unbelievers will simply become tired, fall asleep and never awake."
Evans opened the meeting with prayer and that is how he closed it, saying, "We long to be with you, Father. We are weary, and we long to be with You. And we do pray that that day, when you come for us, that we will be ready."
In a story in the Kansas City Star, it reported that Camping's home phone number has been disconnected. A woman who answered the door to his home Monday said the Harold Camping was not seeing anyone.
