Harold Camping Oct. 21 Rapture: Family Radio Says It's Too Late to be Saved (VIDEO)
God Stopped Saving People in May, Family Radio Says
Family Radio has offered its explanation as to why the world did not end on May 21, as owner Harold Camping had predicted — and why it will on Oct. 21.
Saying that God actually used the May event to "to warn the whole world that on May 21 [His] salvation program would be finished on that day."
That means the ignominious Bible preacher thinks that anyone who had accepted Christ as their Savior since May 21 has not actually been saved.
According to Camping and his network, from May 21, when the world was supposed to have ended, until now, the whole world has been “under God’s judgment.” Everyone, except for the elect, or "true believers," those who actually agree with Camping, have been hanging under God's wrath, which will unfold in all its finality on Friday, Oct. 21.
What actually occurred on May 21 was Camping once again proving himself to be no Bible prophet, again misinterpreting the Bible. Camping inisists that God was only trying to shake up the world, and that His actual plans had been hidden. The explanation is on Camping’s Family Radio web site at a link titled "What Happened on May 21?"
In the link the web site explains, "God withheld from the true believers the way in which two phrases were to be understood. Had He not done so, the world would never have been shaken in fear as it was."
In hermeneutics and in the original Greek, usage of the words "rapture" and "earthquake" are explained. Family Radio says that all one needs is a "critical" understanding of the two words — which Camping has said he did not have because God "hid" the meaning — to understand why his May 21 predictions were wrong.
In another explanation of his philosophy, the 90-year-old “Prophet” took the pressure off the unsaved by explaining that unrepentant sinners can now expect to go "quietly" into eternal damnation. Camping has revealed that he now believes "that all of our unsaved loved ones will not receive special vengeance of God at all. ... We must believe that probably there will be no pain suffered by anyone because of their rebellion against God."
Camping’s network finishes its excuse by noting, "You, too, without your knowledge may have become saved before that [May 21] date."
