Harvest Crusades Heading South in 2005

Harvest Crusades will head ''down under'' and down South this year to host events in four cities around the world

Harvest Crusades will head “down under” and down South this year to host events in four cities around the world, including Augusta, Ga., Athens, Ga., Anaheim, Calif., and Newcastle, Australia.

With a trademark ability to present a straightforward Gospel message in a culturally relevant format, drawing on the latest in current events, contemporary Christian music and technology, Harvest Crusade events have drawn more than three million people to stadiums and arenas around the world since 1990.

“We’re excited about bringing the message of the Gospel to new and familiar places around the world in 2005 through the Harvest Crusades,” said Harvest Crusade founder and evangelist Greg Laurie. “We’ll be bringing great music and the latest technology to each event, but we consider these things to be vehicles for our ultimate goal of sharing a message of hope with each and every participant.”

Laurie, whose newly launched gospel TV program has been reported as one of the leading channels in Southern California to attract viewers, also serves as pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif.—one of the fifteen largest churches in the U.S.

Laurie’s Harvest Crusades has been described by the Orange County Register news agency as “a formidable, flexible event that has stayed in step with the latest trends in communication, music and current events.”

Last year, Harvest Crusades made appearances in Canada, New Zealand, Hawaii, and California, drawing in 950, 1 900, 22 000, and 53 000 attendants respectively and seeing 70, 120, 1 277, and 3 300 decisions for Christ.

This year’s evangelistic crusades in Augusta, Athens, Anaheim and Newcastle are respectively slated for Apr. 17 – 20, Apr. 22, July 15 – 17, and Sept. 8 – 11.
