Harvest Hosts Evening of Evangelism in New Zealand
Over 1,900 people attended ''An Evening of Evangelism'' on Tuesday, Oct. 26 in Christchurch, New Zealand
Over 1,900 people attended “An Evening of Evangelism” on Tuesday, Oct. 26 in Christchurch, New Zealand. The “spectacular” evening, which featured a talk from Southern California evangelist Greg Laurie, concluded with around 200 decisions for Christ.
“They were excited, motivated, engaged, demonstrative and yes, even emotional,” said Mike Brazeal, Harvest event manager.
Some 35 churches were involved with the Harvest Crusade event that featured music from Crystal Lewis and a worship team of 15 people from seven different churches and denominations.

“The leading pastors of the community seemed awestruck by the end of the night,” Brazeal added. “They witnessed firsthand what they said was absolutely impossible in their city. God has used Harvest in Christchurch to break through many invisible barriers tonight. God won out in more ways than we know here tonight.”
Greg Laurie, who serves as senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif.--one of the 15 largest churches in the U.S.-- founded the evangelistic Harvest Crusade events in 1990. Since its founding, Harvest has drawn more than three million people to stadiums and arenas in the world. The previous Harvest Crusade event in Anaheim, Calif., on July 10, saw over 51,000 in attendance, and over 3,400 decisions for Christ. Its next event will be held in Hamilton, Ontario in Canada.
Meanwhile, for 2005, Harvest Crusades plans to host events in Augusta, Georgia; Athens, Georgia, and Anaheim, California.
