Harvey Weinstein Latest News: Producer Under Investigation by Beverly Hills Police

Harvey Weinstein is in trouble with law enforcement, to put it mildly. Both the former Hollywood producer and director James Toback are now under investigation by the Beverly Hills Police Department after new complaints against them have surfaced in the said department's jurisdiction.

This new development adds another agency to the growing list of police departments that are now gunning for the disgraced movie producer. Weinstein was already under close watch by the New York, Los Angeles, and United Kingdom police departments before the Beverly Hills PD joined in, according to Deadline.

By all accounts, the Hollywood cops should have been the first on his case, but it's better late than never. "The Beverly Hills Police Department has recently received multiple complaints involving Harvey Weinstein," the agency announced as they go for the accused Hollywood mogul.

"These cases are under investigation and no further information will be released at this time," the police department added. Beverly Hills police would later issue another statement just like this one, this time naming Toback.

More than 60 women have come forward accusing Weinstein of sexual harassment or assault since the expose published by the New York Times. It's a list that's still growing, as the Weinstein company suffers under a massive backlash, including lawsuits from several of Hollywood's top talents.

The latest of these is a $5 million suit filed by actress Dominique Huett. In her lawsuit, the actress recalled an incident that happened in November of 2010 at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills.

These and other similar complaints in the BHPD's backyard have spurred the police department to an ongoing investigation.

For his part, Weinstein is still actively denying these claims. The disgraced producer and his legal team, via a spokesperson, stated that "any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein."
