'HawthoRNe' Canceled as Marc Anthony Calls Affair Rumors 'Laughable'
Following intense media rumors of Jada-Pinkett Smith and Marc Anthony having an affair, TNT has canceled ‘HawthoRNe.’
"TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of 'HawthoRNe’," said a statement from the network.
"TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in 'HawthoRNe'. The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show’s talented cast, crew, producers and writers. We wish everyone involved with 'HawthoRNe' nothing but the best."

TNT did not confirm whether or not the constant rumors and speculation surrounding its show’s stars were the reason behind the cancellation, but the show never had much of an audience to begin with and suffered huge ratings drops in the past year, even before the Smith and Anthony rumors.
Anthony adamantly denied being unfaithful to Lopez, as well as the media’s speculation that he had a relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith.
“When something like that happens, it’s laughable. We were laughing, like ‘wow,’” said Anthony about his HawthoRNe costar. “We’ve been friends for years. Jada, Jennifer, me, him, for years…”
Jada-Pinkett Smith thanked her fans for their support on her WhoSay.com page.
“Hey everyone...if you don't know Hawthorne will not be returning for another season,” she wrote.
“I want to say thank you to all the fans for being Hawthorne soldiers. All our facebook fans...twitter soldiers and viewers...you held us down. Of course you know there is more to come...believe it!"
The cancellation of the show comes after a rumor-snowball effect. Rumors of Anthony and Smith, who played each other’s love interest on the show, started after rumors of Smith getting a separation from husband Will began to swirl.
Workers on the “HawthoRNe” set have allegedly said that they were amazed by the “intense chemistry” that Smith and Anthony had on set while playing each other’s love interest. Meanwhile, Anthony was going through a separation with wife Jennifer Lopez.
Both Smith and Anthony have vehemently denied the rumors and Smith has said her marriage is not at risk.
Whether or not the rumors are true and if they had anything to do with the cancellation, "HawthoRNe" has definitely been in the news a lot more than usual and has certainly earned a lot more attention than usual.

Nevertheless, that was not enough for TNT to keep the show on the air.
