Heather Locklear Returning to TV, Will Star on 'Hot in Cleveland' This Fall

Heather Locklear is scheduled to return to the small screen in the new season of "Hot in Cleveland" airing on TV Land this fall. Locklear will star in at least three episodes and have a major storyline in the hit comedy starring Betty White.

Locklear will take on the role of a former Miss Ohio who hires Valerie Bertinelli's character, Melanie. She has a rich history playing villainesses on the small screen, but it has not been revealed exactly what Locklear's "Hot in Cleveland" character is up to in the new season.

Locklear has worked on several hit series, including "Dynasty" and "Melrose Place." Although she worked on a pilot for her own comedy show, "Once Around the Park," the series was not picked up by any network and was canceled before it even aired. Since then, she has guest-starred on several popular series such as "Spin City," "Scrubs," and "Two and a Half Men."

In 2009, Locklear joined the new cast of "Melrose Place," which aired on the CW 10 years after the original series. She again took on the role of the villainous Amanda Woodward, but the series never picked up a substantial following and was canceled after one season.

Locklear has also ventured into the film industry, appearing in "The Perfect Man," and Lifetime's "He Loves Me." Her return to the small screen could provide a foil to Bertinelli's good-girl character, Melanie. It would be an interesting pairing that could bring a new level of interest to the hit series.

Since it began in 2010, "Hot in Cleveland" has enjoyed a plethora of guest stars. Perhaps one of the most notable is Susan Lucci, who has starred on several episodes as a rival to Wendie Malick's character, Victoria Chase, a former soap opera star.

Other stars include Carl Reiner, James Patrick Stuart and Jon Lovitz, among many. The show has a cult following thanks to the popularity of Betty White, known to the nation as "America's Sweetheart." The show will air its fourth season this fall.
