Hector Camacho Family Waiting 2 Days Before Removing Life Support
Boxer Hector Camacho's family has agreed to wait two more days before taking him off of life support. The family has been divided as to what to do ever since Camacho was declared brain dead after being shot in the face.
"I'm a person of a lot of faith, and I believe in miracles, but science has spoken," Camacho's aunt, Aida Camacho, told reporters on Thursday evening.
Many members of the family are ready to remove the life-saving devices, but two sisters have asked for more time with their brother. The family is already planning funeral arrangements for Camacho and preparing to deal with the worldwide outpouring of support and sympathy that will come with the news of his actual death.

Camacho was originally expected to survive after being shot in the face, but his condition quickly deteriorated and he was put on life support. His heart stopped at one point, and while there was once hopeful of a recovery, it most likely won't happen, according to Dr. Ernesto Torres.
"It would be a miracle for him to recuperate," he told reporters. "We have done everything we could. We have to tell the people of Puerto Rico and the entire world that Macho Camacho has died, he is brain dead."
Family members are hoping to be able to donate Camacho's organs before removing the life support; they want him to be able to help others and provide for others. Of course, some of the family has opposed the idea and no final decision has been made yet.
Camacho became famous for his boxing career, which included bouts against Julio Cesar Chavez, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Felix Trinidad. He was actually able to best Leonard in 1997 and take a significant stand in the boxing world. Camacho won three world titles before retiring in 1997.
