Helena Christensen, Khloe Kardashian Defend Kim Kardashian Amid Weight Scrutiny

Kim Kardashian has received widespread support from fans over the ongoing media scrutiny surrounding the reality TV star's weight.

Kardashian, 31, is said to be five month along in her first pregnancy and in recent months various tabloids have ridiculed and in some instances even exaggerated her pregnancy weight gain. Supermodel Helena Christensen recently defended the E! reality star in an open letter.

"It is disgusting and despicable the way that certain media constantly harass the pregnant Kim Kardashian," Christensen wrote in a letter obtained by the Huffington Post.

"No one should ever be publicly judged for their body, but to attack an expecting mother is sacrilegious and just plain wrong," she continued. "A pregnant woman should not be criticized for her shape, period!!"

In addition to Kardashian's weight, certain critics have also been focused on the reality TV star's unusual choice of maternity wear. Kardashian has opted to continue wearing her characteristically more revealing and fitted clothing despite having a burgeoning baby bump, and sister Khloe also defended the reality star.

" I love it! I love that she's showing and she's you know, that's like how she gets to dress up the bump and have fun with it," Khloe told HollywoodLife about Kardashian's maternity wear. "So everyone be nice to her! She's pregnant!"

Kardashian, who is expecting her first child with rapper Kanye West, spoke out regarding the media scrutiny. She described the negative press as "bullyish" during an appearance on "The Tonight Show" with Jay leno.

"I think it's a little bully-ish to call a pregnant woman fat," Kardashian told Leno. "I mean what do you expect? I hope I gain weight. I'm a little heavy."
