Heroes Perform CPR on Stranger for Hours, Save Her From Dying in Deep Snow (VIDEO)
What began as a middle-of-the-night bathroom run would have cost Christine 'Tink' Newman her life if not for the quick-thinking and dedication of six strangers.
On Monday, the 24-year-old Vancouver resident went snowshoeing at Elfin Lakes, and when the hike took longer anticipated, a group invited her to stay the night. She agreed and woke up to use the outhouse around 2am. However, she got lost outside and fell into a deep tree well, or area of loose snow around the trunk of a tree.
When her hosts went out the next morning, they figured she had gone out for an early hike. However, when they found her backpack in the snow, they knew something was wrong. They organized a search and eventually spotted the top of Newman's head.
After a struggle to free her from the well, the group detected no vital signs, but got to work anyway. While some gave Newman CPR, others went for help. They ended up performing CPR for about two hours until a rescue team arrived.
