Hillary Clinton Speaks Out on Afghan Massacre, Could be Subject of New Film
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has expressed remorse and outrage at the actions of a United States soldier who murdered 16 Afghanistan civilians, including nine children.
"This is terrible, awful-I can't even imagine the impact on the families who were subject to this attack and the loss of children in this terrible incident," Clinton said yesterday. She was at the United Nations during the press briefing. "This is not who we are," Clinton continued, "and the United States is committed to seeing those responsible held accountable."
"Now, we've had a difficult and complex few weeks in Afghanistan. This terrible incident does not change our steadfast dedication to protecting the Afghan people and to doing everything we can to help build a strong and stable Afghanistan. But, we recognize that an incident like this is inexplicable and will certainly cause many questions to be asked," she concluded.

After her meeting at the United Nations, Clinton attended a three-day event for Women in the World, which is a gathering of influential women from around the world. Clinton was one of the stars of the summit organized by Tina Brown, the editor-in-chief of Newsweek and The Daily Beast.
Meryl Streep, who just won an Oscar for playing British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, was also in attendance and joked about the possibility of portraying Clinton in a documentary. "This is what you get when you play a world leader," Streep said as she held up her Oscar.
"But if you want a real world leader, THIS is what you get!" Streep exclaimed as Clinton took to the stage. People have noted that the two powerful women have much in common: they both have two brothers and are around the same age, they both went to women's colleges and graduate school at Yale.
"But there our two paths diverged in the wood," Streep concluded. "I'm an actress and she's the real deal."
Clinton responded by adding, "I'm just glad she didn't do a movie called 'The Devil Wears Pantsuits,'" a tribute to Streep's role in the hit "The Devil Wears Prada."
