Hillary Clinton Super Bowl Tweet Pokes Fun at Fox
Hillary Clinton set the internet ablaze with a joking tweet posted during the Super Bowl on Sunday night.
The former United States Secretary of State issued a message to Fox during the NFL match between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks on Feb. 2.
"It's so much more fun to watch FOX when it's someone else being blitzed & sacked! #SuperBowl," Clinton posted to Twitter.
The tweet went on to get over 50,000 retweets and was "favorite" by almost 40,000 Twitter users. Later on, Clinton's secretary Nick Merrill confirmed that the former First Lady's message was all in good fun.
"It was good-natured, light-hearted, and self-deprecating," Merrill told USA Today.
The message had been scrutinized since Clinton is often a topic of conversation on Fox-- she may be running for president during the 2016 presidential election.
Moreover, the jocular tweet followed just hours behind President Obama's interview with Fox News host Bill O'Reilly over issues such as the health care law and the Internal Revenue Service. At one point during the heated discussion, Obama told the conservative host that IRS officials are targeted over "bone-headed decisions" and "not even a smidgen" of corruption.
"These kinds of things keep on surfacing in part because you and your TV station will promote them," the President said.
As for his push for Obamacare, the president explained that he wants to create new opportunities for Americans in the middle class and those below that line.
"What we have to do is, is make sure that-- here in America, if you work hard you can get ahead," he said during the live interview on Fox.
On a different note, Obama made prediction about the Super Bowl during the pre-game interview.
"These guys are too evenly matched," Obama said. "I think it is going to be a 24-21, but I don't know who's going to be 24."
The Super Bowl actually saw a huge win from the Seattle Seahawks 43-8.
