Hillsong Church Worship Leader Reuben Morgan Signs With Rocketown Records
Rocketown Records announced today the signing of Hillsong church pastor and worship leader Reuben Morgan. A prolific writer, Morgan has penned congregational favorites such as I Give You My Heart, My Redeemer Lives, Hosanna, Hear Our Praises, I Adore and You Said, with 17 of his songs raking in the Top 500 of the U.S. CCLI chart, more than any other writer. Morgans songs have been featured on numerous albums with artists such as Michael W. Smith, The Katinas, Jeff Deyo, Rita Springer and Robin Mark recording his work. Morgan is also the Youth Music Pastor who helped to establish Hillsong United, currently one of the worlds most sought after youth praise and worship bands, and he served as a producer on four of the United albums including Everyday, Best Friend, King of Majesty and To the Ends of the Earth.
Don Donahue, president of Rocketown Records, said, I have sung Reuben's songs for years in church without even realizing it. To meet the heart behind the melody and lyric has been an honor. I truly feel like America is the last part of the world to discover Reuben Morgan is the artist behind this rich body of work. We are humbled to partner with Reuben to introduce this already well known worship leader to churches in the U.S.
Rocketown has the ingredients Ive been looking for: a vision to strengthen the church, to push the edge, to influence culture toward Christ-awareness, said Morgan. My mission is to help build the local church and to inspire worship around the world. Practically, I outwork that through writing songs, partnering with churches in cities around the world to host worship events, helping people through mission endeavors and pastoring in our home church in Sydney, Australia... My music comes out of a burden to see people connect with God. I believe music was created to reflect the glory of God and to draw people into a deeper knowledge of Him.
Morgans Rocketown debut, World Through Your Eyes, will release in the United States on Sept. 13, with his first radio single, My Redeemer Lives, going for adds at AC/INSP/CHR on June 24.
In promotion of his new record, Morgan will be touring the United States in July and August, doing 20 worship events in markets such as Los Angeles, Denver, Austin, Jacksonville, Tulsa and Orlando.
