'Himouto! Umaru-chan R' Episode 2 Spoilers: Can Umaru Change for Good Before Her Secret Identity Is Exposed?
"Himouto! Umaru-chan" is back with its second season, and Umaru has just as quickly gone back to her old ways. Will she be able to keep her double-identity a secret, or will her double lives eventually unravel as her story progresses?
Umaru Doma may seem like the perfect teenage girl with her beautiful looks and excellent school grades. However, she is a completely different person at home, where she reverts into a lazy bum who wears a hamster hoodie, eats junk food, and obsesses over video games, manga, and watching anime shows.
This "indoor mode" is only known to Umaru's older brother, Taihei Doma, who does all he could to keep up with his job while also taking every effort possible to turn his sister into a decent member of the society. Will his efforts finally start paying off in the series' sophomore season, or will it all end up in vain like how it did in the series' previous run?
It seems like it just might work some slight wonders this time around since the premiere episode has shown Umaru reluctantly taking the initiative to help her friend Nana Ebina, who lives alone in the ground-floor apartment below, weed the garden in their backyard. By the end of the episode, Umaru has also managed to muster up the courage to start a conversation with her friends all by herself.
Could Umaru really be changing for good, or could this all be just an initial rush of inspiration that may end up fading in the long run?
