'Himouto! Umaru-chan R' Episode 3 Spoilers: Could Titular Character's New Friend Be Bad News?

Umaru Doma has made a new friend, but it seems that he's about to bring her nothing but trouble on the Japanese comedy anime series, "Himouto! Umaru-chan R." Also, who knew that ear picks could lead to such a life or death situation?

The previous episode saw Umaru's older brother, Taihei Doma, inviting two of his workmates to dinner at home, one of whom happened to be the older brother of Umaru's school rival, Sylphynford Tachibana.

And while Umaru has previously bonded with Sylphyn over video games as her gaming persona, UMR, she has also managed to bond with Alex Tachibana over their mutual love for anime and the special Anime Song Festival that airs on autumn.

However, both Taihei and his friend, Takeshi Motoba, a.k.a. Bomber, had no idea what has brought Alex to Japan as a special hire for their company, And after Alex was shown reporting to someone on the phone how he has finally made contact with Umaru, he has just turned out to be a rather suspicious guy.

He has asked Umaru if he could come by with some of his favorite anime DVDs sometime, to which the clueless Umaru has readily agreed. Who is Alex and what does he hope to achieve by spying on Umaru's alter ego at home?

Could he have been simply speaking with his sister, Sylphyn, who is still determined to give Umaru a good competition at school, or could he be working for someone else?

The preview for the next episode, titled "Umaru and Friends," shows Alex visiting the Doma's place once more. Could his true intentions be revealed this time around?

"Himouto! Umaru-chan R" airs on Sundays at 11:30 p.m. JST on AT-X and at midnight JST on Tokyo MX and BS11. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes are also available for regions outside Japan via Amazon Prime's Anime Strike service.
