Holly Holm Latest News: Laila Ali says Holm would knock Rousey out again, maybe even worse

Retired undefeated boxer Laila Ali believes newly crowned UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm would be able to knock Ronda Rousey again.

The 37-year old daughter of Muhammad Ali recently spoke to TMZ.com after Holm managed to shock the rest of the world by dealing Rousey her first loss in her mixed martial arts career. According to the younger Ali, Holm's dominating performance was nothing new for her.

"She didn't shock me. I'm familiar with Holly Holm, she's a talented boxer, she's a world champion, she's got an MMA background and obviously was no chump so I'm happy for her and hopefully she'll get the exposure she needs to take her career to the next level."

Ali, a former world champion, holds an impressive win-loss slate of 24-0, with 21 victories by knockout. She noted that Rousey's "best in the world" branding is not warranted; especially after the kind of beating she took in the hands of Holm.

"It's obvious who the better fighter was," Ali said. It's not even about (Rousey) at this point. I think she can watch the tape and see what she needs to work on."

"I don't even want to talk about her because there's so many things I could say, but at this point in order to be the best in the world you definitely don't ever get beat up like that in your prime, period," she added.

Prior to the fight, Rousey had already declared her intent to "disappear" for a while, and come back at UFC 200, which is scheduled for July of the coming year.

While Dana White and Holly Holm herself welcomed the idea of a rematch, Ali does not think it would be a good idea.

"I don't think she should have a rematch with Holly Holm. Because I think it would go the same way a second time -- probably worse."
