The Atlanta-based production team Organized Noize first helped define and then represent the elegant side of late '90s Southern rap, by producing many of the area's most esteemed artists. Organized Noize first made a name for themselves after producing TLC's mammoth hit song "Waterfalls" in 1994. Following this brush with amazing commercial success, the trio went on to produce one of the South's most progressive rap group, Outkast; with Organized Noize producing the bulk of their 1990s albums, this rap group rose to prominence, establishing the South as a vital breeding ground for stylish hip-hop, along with a growing number of soundtrack affiliations such as Shaft and Set It Off.
