'Homeland' Season 4 Cast Continues to Grow as New Filming Location Revealed (SPOILERS)

"Homeland" is taking on a whole new world in the upcoming season 4, and that includes bringing on new actors and actresses. At least three people have been hired and a new filming location set for Showtime's hit series.

Raza Jaffrey, who previously appeared on "Smash," and Michael O'Keefe, from "King & Maxwell," will both have significant roles on the upcoming season of "Homeland." Jaffrey will take on the role of Aasar Khan, a lieutenant-colonel in the Pakistan intelligence service. O'Keefe will portray deputy station chief John Redmond, stationed in the CIA's Pakistan outpost and serving as Khan's right-hand man. He'll also prove a significant impediment to lead character Carrie Mathison.

Jaffrey and O'Keefe are the latest two additions to the growing cast. It was earlier announced that Laila Robins will sign on as Martha Boyd, the United States Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Corey Stoll will guest-star as Sandy Bachman, the CIA Chief of Station in Pakistan.

This season, the show will take place mainly in Pakistan, which means that filming will commence in South Africa. The regular cast members, Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin, will again be prominently featured. Noticeably absent, however, will be actor Damian Lewis, whose character, Brody, was hanged in the most recent season finale.

Another missing actor is James Rebhorn, who played Carrie's father. He passed away in real life, and producers have yet to declare whether they will recast his character or write him out of the series permanently. At the end of last season, Rebhorn's character volunteered to help Carrie raise her daughter – she was torn between keeping the baby or putting her up for adoption.

"I think the child is going to be a big theme for her emotionally," Danes told Variety. "I think she probably escapes into her job. I think she hurls herself at it as a way to avoid some unresolved, very painful feelings to do with Brody."

"Homeland" will likely air its fourth season sometime this fall on Showtime.
