'Homeland' Season 6 Spoilers, Release Date and Cast Details: 'Nurse Jackie' Alum Dominic Fumusa Joins Showtime Series as FBI Agent Ray Conlin
Director-EP Teases Carrie Mathison & Peter Quinn's Fate
There is another interesting new character to look forward to when "Homeland" Season 6 returns next year. The hit Showtime series recruited Dominic Fumusa to portray a significant role in the upcoming season.
The FBI Special Agent
Variety reported that Fumusa has joined the cast of the American political thriller television series to play an FBI special agent named Ray Conlin. The 46-year-old actor is best known for portraying Kevin Peyton in all seven seasons of Showtime comedy-drama "Nurse Jackie."
Fumusa also landed guest spots on several American television series including "Sex in the City," "Bones," "Blue Bloods" and "BrainDead." He also appeared in Will Smith's "Focus," Michael Connors' "Allegiance" and Michael Bay's "13 Hours."
The connection of Ray Conlin to the main characters of the Emmy-winning political drama remains unknown because Fumusa's role is being kept under wraps. The number of episodes in which the new character will appear has not been identified, as the season is still in production.
Bigger Cast
Fumusa joins "House of Cards" star Elizabeth Marvel and "Prison Break" alum Robert Knepper as the new characters to watch out for in the upcoming season. Marvel will portray Elizabeth Keane, a former junior senator from New York who will become the first female president-elect of the United States.
Moreover, Knepper will appear in the upcoming season as General Jamie McClendon. The character is a representative of the Department of Defense who will be tasked to orient the new president and her team.
The Christian Post also reported last week that some Israeli actors will join the cast of the Showtime hit. They will take high-profile roles including Mossad agents, an Iranian entrepreneur and a Palestinian police officer.
Fate of Carrie & Peter
In addition to the new characters to look forward to in the upcoming season, the fate of Carrie Mathison (Claire Dane) and Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) will be exciting. Lesli Linka Glatter, one of the directors and executive producers of the show, recently told Vulture that the new installment will continue to tell a good and provocative story.
Glatter said Carrie's character will advocate for the Muslim Americans and deal with how the police treat the community after the 9/11 attack. The Emmy-nominated director shared that one of the sensitive issues Carrie will tackle is the arrest and detention of Muslim Americans for thought crimes.
Glatter also teased that Friend is doing an amazing job in reprising his role as Peter. She hinted that Peter is out of bed and the character has something new to offer in the upcoming season.
The sixth installment of "Homeland" will air on Showtime on Jan. 15, 2017 at 9 p.m.
