'Homeland' Season 7 Spoilers: Will Carrie Give Keane Another Chance at Redemption?

President Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) may still change her mind and entreats Carrie (Claire Danes) to return to the fold in the upcoming season of "Homeland."

Spoilers for the new installment indicate that Keane's enemies will continue to multiply. In fact, when the Showtime series returns next year, viewers will get to meet one of her biggest nemesis. Senator Sam Paley (to be played by Dylan Baker) is set to make the Keane's life hell, as he starts his aggressive probe on her administration. If in the past, Keane managed to survive the coup launched to take her down, this time around, she may not be so lucky.

Knowing that she has a lot of people wanting her head on a platter, Keane may realize that she needs someone who has experience in saving her. Carrie did it before when she prevented the planned assassination of the president. Keane proved right there and then that the blonde was someone who deserves her trust. Unfortunately, the paranoia of getting killed went to her head and she started putting boundaries between her and her loyal aides.

Carrie was one of the first to experience Keane's sudden change of persona. When she tried to explain to the president that Saul (Mandy Patinkin) was innocent, she was brushed off. This made Carrie realize that she has been siding with the wrong party. In season 7, she is expected to rejoin the intelligence community, the very group that Keane has vowed to destroy. In the event that the POTUS changes her mind and reaches out, it remains to be seen whether Carrie will accept the offer or not.

At the moment, Showtime has yet to release the final schedule for the premiere of "Homeland" season 7. It is expected that it will air in January 2018, but CarterMatt reported it could be later.
