'Honey Badger' Voice Narrator Revealed; Children His New Subject? (VIDEOS)
The "Honey Badger" became a popular YouTube video, getting over 30 million hits, after an anonymous narrator took his own spin to the usually straight forward and mundane narrative. Now, in light of a new book deal, the anonymous voice has decided to identify himself.
The man, who only gave the name Randall, has a Honey Badger Twiiter, Facebook, and even a Honey Badger game app. Adding to his collection, Randall released a new book Tuesday titled "Guide to Crazy, Nastya-- Animals!!"
The book also has Randall's famous line on its front cover, "The Honey Badger Don't Care."
Randall revealed himself at an L.A. book premiere for the first time. TMZ secured video of the previously anonymous Randall, to ask about his reason for choosing the honey badger. His reason?
"I think that because of today's society, the honey badger is an animal that a lot of people can relate to," Randall said in the TMZ interview. "Everyone has an inner Honey Badger inside of them."
Randall also explained that he began is narrative adventures after a friend showed him the original video of the Honey Badger with what he called a "mundane" description.
"My assistant showed me the original honey badger video and I was just like, the narration was so mundune and so stupid. This animal is eating cobras, demolishing animals, and ya know what, this narration is so boring. I said, you know what, we need to spice things up a bit."
Randall gave the following description of himself on Twitter. "I'm the narrator who warned you--honey badger don't care! I'ma sucker 4 nature, animals, pop, politics & wildlife. I'm here 2 narrate, educate & B merry!" he wrote.
On Facebook, fans joked about Randall narrating the video of their children. Terina Calcagno Brown wrote, "Randall, will you narrate my baby's home videos? lol jk" Randal responded with "LOLOLOL It depends how nasty your baby is! =) xoxo ♥"
Later, Jennifer Patterson Linneman also tried to promote her kids as future topics for Randall's narrative. "Omg that would be so awesome! Too bad my girls are 12 and 8! Although they do some gross stuff still for sure! And they run backwards too," she posted.
