'Horizon Zero Dawn' News: More Interesting Tidbits About 'The Frozen Wilds' Expansion Emerge From a New Gameplay Video
Players will be working with some companions while going through the expansion
The wait for "The Frozen Wilds" expansion has now come to an end, and "Horizon Zero Dawn" players can now go on more adventures along with protagonist Aloy.
For those players still on the fence about getting the expansion, they can learn some more things about it and discover a number of its new features in a recently published gameplay video.
Principal quest designer and writer Tim Stobo and quest designer Blake Rebouche recently gave fans a look at actual "Frozen Wilds" gameplay.
The first thing players may notice from the video is the area itself.
"The Frozen Wilds" expansion is set in an area known as the Cut. The Cut is blanketed in snow and inhabited by members of the Banuk tribe.
Some of these tribe members will be able to help players out as they go through the icy wastelands featured in the expansion.
While going through the "Survivor" quest that was featured in the video above, protagonist Aloy meets a new character named Ikrie and they begin working together to take out the machines in the area.
According to the developers, "Horizon Zero Dawn" players can expect that more situations similar to this will pop up in the expansion, giving them more opportunities to work with new characters.
Later on in the video, the developers showed off one of the new machines players will have to deal with in the expansion known as a Scorcher. The Scorcher is a tougher machine to take down, and players will need to study it carefully if they want to survive an encounter with it.
The "Survivor" quest and the Scorcher are just some of the new features included in the expansion, and players can expect to see more additions as they continue to progress through it.
Players can also look forward to staying in "The Frozen Wilds" for a while, with the Daily Star Online recently reporting that it provides at least 15 hours of extra content.
More news about "Horizon Zero Dawn" should be made available soon.
