'Horizon Zero Dawn' Update: RPG's US Release; Preload Ongoing for Other Regions
Gamers in North America who ordered "Horizon Zero Dawn" will now be able to play the action role-playing game on their PlayStation 4 as it releases today in their region. In the meantime, gamers in Europe and Japan who pre-ordered the game can now preload it.
According to Gear Nuke, the download for Guerrilla Games' newest offering is supposed to go off without a hitch. If it does not load automatically, users may go manual by going to the library and selecting the game from the list. There are some concerns in this method, though, as it previously seemed to be working only for those residing in the Asia and Hong Kong region.
Those who pre-ordered the digital copy of the game from the PlayStation Store can expect to receive a dynamic theme as well as a Nora Machine-Trapper pack. Another feature gamers can look forward to in the RPG is its 4K visuals on the PS4 Pro. In the meantime, the game's file size is about 40 GB.

Early this February, Sony Interactive Entertainment UK product manager Jon Edwards previewed what to expect in the game. According to him, the delay in the launch was mainly due to Guerrilla's concern that they only release a game of the highest standard. Edwards assured fans that everything about "Horizon Zero Dawn," from its visuals to gameplay quality, would not disappoint. The RPG was initially scheduled for a 2016 release.
"This game looks beautiful on the standard PS4 but those with a PlayStation 4 Pro will definitely experience enhanced visuals if they have a 4K HDR-ready TV. You will notice subtle details such as branches swaying in the wind and more details to the machines. Meanwhile, the HDR really adds a whole new level of beauty to the different ecosystems," the product manager told MCV UK.
"Horizon Zero Dawn" arrives in North America this Feb. 28, while the European release is scheduled for March 1. It will be made available in Japan on March 2. The game will follow the adventures of Aloy, a redhead tribal hunter who exists in a post-apocalyptic world run by machines.
