House of Cards Season 3 Release Date, Cast Spoilers: Is Doug Stamper Dead? Rumors of Early 2015 Netflix Premiere
Reports on the Netflix hit original political drama TV series "House of Cards" recently confirmed that the show has been renewed for another season and is rumored to return on air sometime in early 2015. The web stream firm, however, has not made yet any official statement with regards to a premiere date.
Reasons for the uncertainties of dates might be attributed to the production problems that the show encountered -- particularly the tax law issues in Maryland. Nevertheless, news from the people in the know revealed that filming for the forthcoming series is ongoing.
Putting aside release date information, fans of the show are already hankering for more answers on the questions left when Season 2 ended. For one, there's the issue surrounding the newly appointed U.S. president Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey.
According to the Latin Times, the Democrat's fate really depends whether or not Michael Kelly's Doug Stamper, Underwood's chief of staff and confidant, is dead after having been bashed in the head with the rock.
He was presumably seen with eyes wide open and motionless, but Rachel Brosnahan (she plays prostitute named Rachel Posner) spoke with Entertainment Weekly to shed some light on the character's true condition.
"I don't think we know that he's dead yet. It cuts so quickly. I don't think we can say for sure that Stamper is dead," she explained. "Michael [Kelly] and I had some conversations [about the ending moments]. He's very upset with me! [Laughs] It was some tough, crazy scenes in the woods, but I don't think I've ever worked with an actor that is so kind and positive all the time. Michael's amazing. He can't be dead!"
An interview with the Huffington Post had the actor Kelly dished out more information on his character's demise, on whether or not he can make it to Season 3. The 45-year-old actor said, "I don't know -- they haven't officially said."
"With television contracts, as an actor, when you sign those contracts you sign for a long time. So technically they still own me, but I don't know yet," he added.
