It is unclear up to what extent the couple's separation will bring especially now that Frank is prepping for electoral campaigns. Rumors suggest that Claire won't even be part of the campaigns that are looking to make sure Frank sits on the country's highest post once more.

For the most part, Claire has been with Frank through it all, even through the times when she had to cover up for the president's mistakes, not just because he was the country's most respected man but because he is her husband. It seemed though that Frank didn't treasure Claire's efforts, which led to the first lady being tired of the political drama and cover-ups.

It was also announced previously that Neve Campbell will appear in the first episode of the upcoming season. Multiple outlets reported a few months back that Campbell will be a new series regular, though the producers will have to see how the masses will welcome her mysterious character before allowing her to really be in the show.

According to reports, Campbell's character will manipulate both the POTUS and the FLOTUS, knowing that they are on the verge of breaking up. She will do everything to be on top, and with her plan to take advantage of Frank and Claire's weakest moments, it seems the presidency is at stake.

To find out how Campbell's character will affect Frank and Claire, watch season 4 of "House of Cards" when it premieres on March 4, 2016.
