'House of Cards' Season 4 Release Date Revealed; Plot Thickens
The release date for the hit Netflix series "House of Cards" has been revealed.
After a dramatic third season, fans are looking forward to seeing Frank and Claire Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, respectively, once again.
With Frank preparing for his 2016 Presidency campaign, more issues are expected to arise. It was revealed that the upcoming season will present a complicated plot that will see a shift in dynamics between many of the characters.
One of the problems that the season will face is the separation of Frank and Claire. It was revealed that the upcoming episodes will have the two finally reveal that they will be separating. This means that the two will be working separately. However, the executive producer of the series, Beau Willimon, explained that the series will show a different side of the couple, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
He stated, "A lot of the strength of the show is based on the strength of that marriage. But as soon as we began to explore that, we realized there was no turning back. We also realized we'd laid the groundwork in the previous two seasons for this conflict between Francis and Claire, and the more we began exploring it, the more inevitable it became. And the more exciting it was for us to travel that emotional terrain."
However, the conflict between Frank and Claire is expected to bring in a familiar face. It was reported that Frank will be turning to Doug, played by Michael Kelly, for help. Kelly had discussed this matter during the same interview. He stated, "He's obviously far more efficient with Doug by his side. I can only hope that next season it'll bring more of a 'let's get some shit done.'"
"House of Cards" season 4 premieres on Netflix on March 4.
