'House of Cards' Season 4 News: Underwoods Still 'Together' and Adopting a Child?
With Season 4 quite a long way from its release date on Netflix, more rumors have surfaced about what's going to happen to the show's power couple, Frank and Claire Underwood. As season 3 ended, the couple's marriage issues came to a head with Claire walking out of her husband during the season finale.
According to a new report in EnStars however, a new rumor is going around that the power couple, instead of calling it quits, may actually still continue to pretend that they are still together and will go through great lengths to do so. This includes adopting a baby as if to show the public that their marriage is still intact. The report however warned fans about taking this piece of news lightly but also speculated that given how the show has repeatedly "shocked" fans and viewers with unusual twists, it may possibly happen.
Another report in PopSugar mentioned the return of Doug Stamper. Stamper, played by Michael Kelly, is Frank Underwood's chief of staff who lost Frank's trust sometime in season 3. At the end of season 3, however, Stamper was able to regain some of this trust so the report said that he may be working closely with Frank once again in the upcoming season.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, the show's creator Michael Dobbs said that "the forthcoming season will feature more wickedness," citing that there will be more "Machiavellian scheming" coming its way in the show.
He also said that Frank, despite being a slick politician himself, may be "getting his comeuppance" as well, sooner than later. "Oh, all politicians get their comeuppance at some point but the question is whether they survive and come back for more. Frank in season three said 'I'm on the way out, I'm not going to stand for re-election' and then we discover by the end of season three perhaps he's changed his mind. So you can always expect the unexpected in politics," Michael said.
