'House of Cards' Season 5: Frank Fights Back Against Adversaries
Frank (Kevin Spacey) will make sure he will stay in power in the upcoming season of "House of Cards."
According to Inquisitr, there is no way that the POTUS will let his adversaries kick him out of the White House. With the help of his loyal aide, Doug (Michael Kelly), he will do his best to stop a potential impeachment and remain as one of the most powerful leaders of the free world. Last finale, Frank's enemies tried to expose his dirty secrets to the public. They were also determined to put Will Conway (Joel Kinnaman) on the presidential seat.
The new installment will see the Americans choosing their next leader. Although Conway still has a lot to learn in politics, he already has a huge amount of followers. Frank must not underestimate him.
Meanwhile, new faces will also play major roles in the upcoming storylines. According to Den of Geek, Patricia Clarkson will likely play the role of Frank's newest rival. It has also been announced that Campbell Scott has joined the series, but nothing has been revealed yet about his and Clarkson's characters.
Viewers can also expect to see several deaths happening in the new season. Kelly has previously revealed that some fan favorites might be saying goodbye. Could one of them be Claire (Robin Wright), Frank's estranged wife? Her rivalry with Frank has kept many fans entertained for several installments already. Theirs is a love-hate relationship. Claire has made no secret of the fact that she adores power. She will gladly stab Frank in the back if it means saving her own skin.
"You lose characters that you love. We almost lost Frank, and I always have faith in the writers that no matter what road we go down, we're going to come back to what the show is," Kelly teased in an interview with Deadline.
"House of Cards" season 5 is expected to air on May 30 on Netflix.
