'Housewives' Heather Dubrow Responds to 'Bullying' Criticism: 'Alexis Was Being Aggressive' (VIDEO)
"Real Housewives of Orange County" cast member Heather Dubrow has spoken out regarding a disturbing incident that occurred during a recent episode.
Viewers Monday saw fan favorite Alexis Bellino, 32, being attacked by her co-stars at a dinner party hosted by fellow "housewife" Tamra Barney. Dubrow, 44, and co-star Gretchen Rossi, 34, joined Barney, 45, in confronting Bellino over their alleged differences and the incident resulted in the trio being branded "bullies" by critics, which Dubrow addressed in a recent blog post.
"I am so tired of being lumped in with 'the other girls,' and this whole 'us against you' dynamic, like we are on teams," Dubrow wrote regarding Bellino. "I had no intention of engaging with her."
During the dinner, Barney tried to address unresolved issues she had with Bellino at a table filled with guests, but the mother of three insisted that they talk privately at a more appropriate time. Almost immediately Rossi began making nasty comments to Bellino and eventually Dubrow added her two cents. Bellino struggled to defend herself against the trio.
"I was determined not to get involved-- but when Alexis was repeatedly saying 'all of YOU,' 'YOU'RE all ganging up on me again,' I couldn't keep my mouth shut. I didn't want to be grouped together again with everyone when I wasn't doing or saying anything!" Dubrow explained.
"I felt like Alexis was being aggressive and trying to egg everyone on -- almost a self-fulfilling prophecy...It was all so juvenile and ridiculous, which is why I resorted to juvenile, ridiculous behavior," she continued, adding, "This is where I felt Alexis had brought us."
Although Bellino remained calm throughout the ordeal, Barney abruptly demanded that she "get the f--- out" before attempting to manhandle the fashion designer. Bellino, who was left shaken after the incident, reflected on the alarming situation in her own blog post.
"That moment was so surreal for me. Tamra, Gretchen, and Heather are all screaming at me. I am scared Tamra is going to hit me when she walks over to my chair, and then my ex-friend is clapping while I'm getting thrown out of the party," Bellino wrote.
Dubrow, Rossi and Barney have refused to accept responsibility for the chaos that ensued during episode four. Dubrow, who is a retired actress, appeared to blame Bellino, who was left crying uncontrollably, for the vicious confrontation.
"I thought it was brave of Alexis to come to the dinner, I just thought she should have let someone else talk at the dinner table and turned it into a conversation, rather than a shouting match," she wrote.
