Mad Max Release Date News: How Big is The Mad Max World?

Just how big is the open world featured in the upcoming game "Mad Max?" A Tech Times report tries to piece together information from various sources to answer this question.

Another report in Forbes also noted that even before the game is officially released on September 1 for various platforms, the amount of marketing materials that has already been released about the game is nothing short of a "deluge." Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive recently released a TV commercial for the game, giving gamers a good glimpse of what's in store for them if they purchase the game.

"Mad Max" is an open-world post-apocalyptic survival video game. It is set in what is called the Wasteland and its description says: "In the Wasteland, it's every man for himself. Playing as the reluctant warrior, players must embark on a treacherous journey to build the ultimate war vehicle and leave the madness behind."

The Tech Times report tries to put together information in order to say just how big a world "Mad Max" is asking gamers to explore. According to the report, Warner Bros. is saying that 60 percent of the game's gameplay will be made of up of "driving around" in the Magnum Opus, a fully customizable car, while "battling it out with raiders and their ilk." The Magnum Opus is not just an ordinary car as it can go as fast as 100 miles per hour and given this detail, the world that this kind of car can explore is definitely a large one.

The report also mentioned that the "Mad Max" map is divided into several regions and each region is under the control of a warlord. Each region also has its own backstory. The ultimate goal for the player is to neutralize the warlord in each region so that Max can freely explore it without any danger of attack.

Another feature of the game that indicates its a large world is the presence of a "soft border" called "The Big Nothing." Players can drive off into this area for a short time, but they need to watch out for massive sandstorms that may appear and can rip the player and his vehicle apart.

Aside from what has been cited above, there are still no exact details about how big the "Mad Max" world is. But gamers will soon find out when the game is released for PC, Xbox One and PS4 on September 1.
