'How to Get Away With Murder' Season 2 Spoilers: Annalise and Wes' Past
There are still many mysteries to uncover when the second season of "How to Get Away With Murder" returns to the small screens.
The midseason finale ended with more questions to answer. One of the most talked about topics regarding the hit series is how Annalise Keating, played by Viola Davis, is involved with Wes Anderson's, played by Alfred Enoch, past.
Before the series ended for its winter break, Wes was seen shooting Annalise in the chest after realizing that she has been lying to her about Rebecca. After that, Annalise then called out to him saying, "Christophe." This led to a flashback that featured a younger version of Wes and a detective. Outside the interrogation room was Annalise and Eve, played by Famke Janssen.
That alone shows that there is more to the story behind Annalise and Wes. Fans are speculating that Annalise is very much involved with how Wes' mother died, which was presumed a suicide.
The creator of the series, Pete Nowalk, recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about their relationship. He stated, "There's a lot to read into there. We're going to take some time to tell that story, so I don't want to give away anything. You can analyze that scene, what her expression means, what Eve's doing there, what Wes is saying to the FBI agent. I think there's a lot of information there, but there's a mystery for a reason."
He also emphasized that Annalise and Wes have a very complicated relationship. With that, the events that took place in the midseason finale are expected to challenge the two of them further.
He added, "They've always had a very difficult relationship, but I don't see how they recover from this. They both have a lot to recover from. That's going to be hard for them when we come back."
"How to Get Away With Murder" season 2 will return on Feb. 11.
