'How to Get Away With Murder' Season 3 Update: Lauren Velez Added as New Cast
Dexter alum Lauren Luna Velez will be joining the casts for the 3rd season of the drama series "How To Get Away with Murder."
Velez will be playing the role of the president of the university where Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) works as a professor, the Middleton University. While details about Velez' character are not yet revealed, it is believed that her role is a friendly, warm, diplomatic, and smart woman.
Velez is again portraying another role of a woman in authority following her role as detector Nina Moreno in the TV series New York Undercover which was aired in 1995-1998. Her other notable roles were Maria LaGuerta in Showtime's Dexter, Dr. Gloria Nathan in HBO's Oz, and Elena in ABC's Ugly Betty.
Despite her friendly character in the upcoming season of "How To Get Away With Murder," it is said that her role and Annalise will have clashing personalities.
Velez' casting is so far the second casting update of the show. The first cast introduced to be a regular member of Season 3 was Conrad Ricamora, who plays the role of Connor Walsh's boyfriend, Oliver Hampton, a tech-savvy and smart person. Ricamora's character has been introduced in the Season 1 as frequent guest star, and he played more scenes on the show's second season.
