'How To Train Your Dragon 3' Spoilers: Plot Will Center on Dragons, Toothless Meets Another Night Fury?

It's both good and bad news for all the "How To Train Your Dragon" fans. The good part is that a third sequel is coming soon. The bad news is that it's going to be the last one in the franchise. There's nothing to be sad about though as DreamWorks is planning to create a finale that will really make an impact to its followers.

According to Venture Capital Post, the movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 29, 2018. And although there are no specific details yet as to what the plot of the last movie will be, speculations have been making its rounds on the web already. Youth Health also noted that Director Dean DeBlois divulged through an interview with Collider the overall theme and concept for the new film.

He stated that "How To Train Your Dragon 3" will be looking deeper into the dragons themselves, especially Toothless. It will also go on the route of exploring what happened to the dragons and why they no longer exist, based on the books by Cressida Cowell.

"So the whole mystery of where did they go? Did they come back? What transpired? I think it's all compelling stuff and it's definitely a story that's gonna have a lot more Toothless emphasis in it," said DeBlois.

A human versus dragon war may also take place since this is what happened in the book series that the movies are based on, reports Movie News Guide. But Cowell had said that the trilogy and books might not be the same in storytelling, although they will certainly "meet at same conclusions."

In the book, Hiccup is already old and is just recalling the time when dragons and humans live together. This has led to the speculation that the past two movies were kind of a flashback. Sources also say that there's a good chance that Toothless will meet another Night Fury. But the question of whether that Night Fury will be a friend or a foe is still uncertain.
