HP Elite x3 News and Updates: Pre-Order Sales Resume with Free Accessory; Specs and Features Detailed
The much-awaited high-end business smartphone from HP, the Elite x3, was just launched a couple of weeks ago. Fans who were eagerly anticipating the product could not get their hands on the smartphone for weeks, even just for pre-order. Today, however, the HP Elite x3 goes on sale once again.
Stock and Bundles
Just a couple of days after its official launch earlier this month, the HP Elite x3 was already out of stock. The product webpage for the device on both the Microsoft Store and HP USA's websites has had the same status for almost a week now. Even worse, Microsoft did not seem to be addressing the problem, which kept excited buyers frustrated and hanging dry.
However, the HP Elite x3 once again goes live for pre-order. It will be available in both the US and Canada regions. Both the American and Canadian Microsoft Store product pages have published that the official release date of the smartphone would be on September 26. However, it remains out of stock in HP's USA regional website.
It sells for $799 in the US and comes with a bundled HP Elite x3 Desk Dock. The free docking accessory allows users to fully utilize the Continuum feature. This then gives the device the capability to connect to a monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse, with the smartphone being the main processing unit and running virtual apps for productivity. The HP Elite x3 Desk Dock also incorporates rapid charging technology to power up the smartphone while simultaneously working.
Specs Rundown
Being a business and productivity device, one of the main distinguishing features of the HP Elite x3 is that it runs on Windows 10 mobile. This gives it the power and flexibility of the Windows platform, coupled with powerful specs.
It has a 5.96-inch screen with Quad HD resolution and AMOLED technology. This gives the HP Elite x3 maximum contrast with deep blacks and saturated colors. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 and has military grade STD 810G certification for maximum durability. The IP67 certification then ensures its water and dust resistance.
It runs on the Snapdragon 820 with an Adreno 530 GPU for the best processing performance possible. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD. It also sports a fingerprint sensor and iris scanner, for highly-advanced security measures.
The device is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. The selfie snapper is an 8-megapixel sensor. For the audio, it features front-firing stereo speakers with Bang & Olufsen infused technology. It also has a 4150 mAh battery pack for a long lasting usage experience.
